Apple AirPods Max (Starlight)
I’ve been using these the longest, and they’re still one of my favorite headphones. The Starlight shade is gorgeous. Super soft and elegant. These feel very “Apple” premium build, sleek design, and they just work seamlessly with my other Apple devices.
The sound quality is top-tier. I love how crisp and rich everything sounds, and the noise cancellation is so good. It completely shuts out background noise when I’m traveling or working in busy spaces. The only downside for me is that they’re a bit on the heavier side, so after a few hours, I definitely feel it.
Sonos Ace (White)
I started using these in January, and honestly, they’re impressive. The white color is clean and minimal, and they’re noticeably lighter than the AirPods Max which makes them more comfortable for longer sessions. The sound is more neutral and balanced, which I think a lot of people will appreciate, especially if you’re not into heavy bass.
What stood out is how smoothly they integrate with the Sonos app and even my TV setup. It’s great for switching between music and shows without messing with settings. The noise canceling isn’t as powerful as the AirPods Max, but it still does the job well.
Which one do I prefer?
It depends on the situation. For travel, editing, and deep focus, AirPods Max. But for everyday comfort and at-home use, I reach for the Sonos Ace more often now. Both serve different vibes, and I love having the option to switch.
Final thoughts:
They’re both amazing in their own way. The AirPods Max is great for that full Apple experience and serious noise canceling. The Sonos Ace is perfect if you want something lighter, minimal, and comfy for daily use.
